Les \u00e9lectrodes sont reli\u00e9es au stimulateur cardiaque proprement dit, qui est implant\u00e9 sous la peau\/le muscle pectoral. Le pacemaker se compose d&rsquo;une pile et d&rsquo;un syst\u00e8me \u00e9lectronique ; lorsque le niveau de la pile devient trop faible, le g\u00e9n\u00e9rateur doit \u00eatre remplac\u00e9 (pas les \u00e9lectrodes !). La dur\u00e9e de vie de la pile est d&rsquo;environ 10 ans, selon le mod\u00e8le et les r\u00e9glages individuels. Les stimulateurs cardiaques doivent \u00eatre contr\u00f4l\u00e9s r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement (en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral une fois par an). Chaque stimulateur peut \u00eatre programm\u00e9 individuellement. Elles enregistrent l&rsquo;ECG, qui est ensuite analys\u00e9. Selon l&rsquo;objectif et la structure, diff\u00e9rents signaux de l&rsquo;ECG sont utilis\u00e9s comme d\u00e9clencheurs. Souvent, le complexe QRS est utilis\u00e9 comme d\u00e9clencheur pour d\u00e9tecter les battements du c\u0153ur.
